Follow Hip Hop in the Quest of One of its Greatest Innovators

Now playing at AMC Loews Metreon 16 and Sundance Kabuki Cinemas in San Francisco. Beats, Rhymes, and Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Questdescribes the tumult of A Tribe Called Quest’s meteoric rise and fall as Hip Hop’s definitive act, and its path toward retribution in its 2008 tour. Director Michael Rapaport chronicles the group’s formation as one of hip hop’s most unprecedented and influential bands, to its highly publicized break-up in 1998 and the group’s eventual reformation and return to its original roots: their love of the music. Reviews call it, “the smartest, deepest episode of ‘Behind the Music’ ever.”
