No-Budget Film Released Successfully On The Web

(From last week)
The Polish brothers have done something remarkable: in just two days since their film was released on iTunes they have made over $200,000. Here’s the catch: they produced their movie on a budget of $0. Even more interesting is that they didn’t distribute their film to journalist prior to its release, but instead relied on their Facebook and Twitter feeds for publicity.

Mark and Michael Polish say that the only expense they paid for the movie, titled For Lover’s Only, was for food while they filmed. Mark stars alongside Stana Katic, who agreed to act for free and provided her own wardrobe.

The film is about two former lovers who meet again and travel throughout France, and draws heavily from Claude Lelouch’s A Man and a Woman and French New Wave cinema in general. Some of the Polish brothers’ more well-known films are Stay Cool and Northfork.
